I. Product Description
LS-829 Safety Assistance System is a product geared towards scenarios in commercial vehicles. Based on deep-learning technology, the product is equipped with forward collision warning and driving behavior monitoring, greatly reducing accidents and saving lives.
When ADAS Camera detects a potential risk, such as collision with the vehicle in front, vehicles distance is too close, or accidental deviation from its lane, the system will voice-alert the driver to take actions. DMS Camera will identify the driver’s abnormal behaviors, such as fatigue driving, distracted driving, smoking, making telephone calls, drinking water, and not wearing seat belts. It will also verify the driver’s identity via the face recognition algorithm.
When ADAS or DMS warning is triggered, LS-829 directly uploads the pictures or videos of the risky moments to the cloud via the system’s 4G Netcom, or it will transfer the warning information to a third party's vehicle network via RS232 serial port. While lowering the traffic accidents rate, the company is able to deeply analyze the driver’s driving behavior based on the warning data collected, improving the fleet’s operation efficiency, lowering insurance company’s claim rate, and taking away some of the concerns from the government departments.
Applicable Industries: Cargo trucks, dump trucks, public buses, school buses, taxis, and ride-sharing services.
II. Function Definitions
The system checks the distance between the vehicle in front real-time, and it calculates the potential collision time based on two vehicles’ relative speeds. Alarm is triggered when the potential collision time is less than the threshold value.
Alarm sound | · Four continuous treble-tone sounds. |
· Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over
Alarm threshold | 30km/hr. |
· Trigger threshold: Increases with the vehicle speed, lowest 2.7 seconds,
highest 5.2 seconds | |
Alarm precision | · 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate. |
Invalidation | · When the backlight is too strong, the system will be ineffective temporarily. |
· During heavy rain and foggy days, the system will be ineffective due to low
scenario | |
visibility. | |
Based on your vehicle’s speed, the system checks the distance with the vehicle in front real-time, and it estimates the collision time if the front vehicle brakes suddenly. Alarm is triggered when the collision time is less than the threshold value.
Alarm sound | · An alto-tone sound every 0.5 second. |
· Turn-on threshold: Turns on when the vehicle speed is over 30km/hr.
Alarm threshold | · Trigger threshold: Supports the back-end configuration threshold value. |
Recommended 0.8 second for small vehicles, 1.2 second for large vehicles.
Detection | · Real value based on the distance detected by millimeter-wave radar with |
precision | average error <10%. |
Invalidation· During heavy rain and foggy days, the system will be ineffective due to low
scenario visibility.
The system detects the lanes to the right and left real-time. An alarm is triggered when the system detects an unconscious lane deviation based on right and left turn signals.
Alarm sound | · A series of continuous short sounds.
· Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over
Alarm threshold | · | 55km/hr. |
Trigger threshold: Temporarily cannot adjust the sensitivity
Alarm precision | · | 99% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate. |
Invalidation· During heavy rain and foggy days, the system will be ineffective due to low
scenario visibility.

Alarm threshold | 10km/hr. |
· Trigger threshold: The driver closes his eyes for more than 1.5 second.
· Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.
Alarm precision | · 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate. |
Invalidation | · Fails to detect in highly-reflective sunglasses; the system works with normal |

· Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.
Alarm precision | · 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate. |
When the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr, the system will use driver’s facial features to identify the face orientation when driving normally. Alarm will be triggered when the system detects the driver has a long-term, large-angle deviation from a normal face orientation.
Alarm sound | · Voice warning, “Keep in focus.” |
· Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over
10km/hr. | |
· Trigger threshold: Referencing on the driver’s normal driving face orientation,
Alarm threshold | the alarm is triggered when the system detects the face deviates more than 30 |
degrees to the right or left, or 18 degrees up and down, and the deviation is
longer than 2 seconds. | |
· Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.
Alarm precision | · 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate. |
Alarm triggered when the system detects the driver’s smoking movements.
Alarm sound | · Voice warning, “No smoking.” |

Alarm threshold | · Trigger threshold: The driver's smoking movements last for more than 1 |
second. | |
· Cool-down: 30-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

After launching driver’s identity authentication, the system will analyze the real-time human face video. It will select human face pictures at the right angles and compare with the local human face database. Successful identification will provide one of the two results: 1. The driver is a designated driver in the identification database; 2. The driver is an unknown driver that is not in the identification database. If the system cannot find the right angles for face pictures or other reasons, it will return with a recognition failure.
